NEWSLETTER 03/12/14

ADVENT FRIENDS: Last Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. Each child in the school has been allocated and “advent” or “special” friend in the lead up to Christmas. Children should be particularly kind to the person without letting them know that they have been chosen. No cards or gifts are necessary and should not be sent into school.

STAFF/GIFTS: The staff of the school has requested that due to the financial pressure on families at this time of year, children should not bring in presents / cards for staff this year. We very much appreciate the thought but feel it is an unnecessary expense at this time.

PANTO TICKETS: Tickets go on sale next Tuesday 9th for our panto “Dick Whittington & his Cat”. Please check the list, which will be displayed on the notice board at the main entrance in the next couple of days. Tickets are limited to 3 per family. €6 for adults, €3 children (primary/post primary). A waiting list will be prepared for available surplus tickets. This year the Panto will start at 7pm each night.
Times: 9.20 am / 1.40 pm / 2.40 pm.

HALLELUJAH CONCERT: Best wishes to the children from 4th, 5th and 6th Classes who travel to Citywest tomorrow (Thursday). Thanks to the teachers involved for all their hard work.

MASS: Monday December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. We will bring children from 1st – 6th classes to the church for Mass at 10am (weather permitting).

3RD CLASS MASS: Families of children in 3rd class (Mrs. Hurley/Ms. Cunningham) are especially invited to Mass at 11.30 am on Sunday in St. Anne’s Church. Children from the classes will be actively involved in the ceremony.

SCHOOL CALENDARS: It is expected that the calendars will be for sale next week (probably Wednesday). The price this year has been reduced to €7 (following long negotiations with the printers!!)
